| Our Location
Yakamoz is situated in a
secluded but central position halfway between Fethiye and Oludeniz in
South West Turkey. We are located in a mountain valley nearly 1500 feet
above sea level, which means we catch any pleasant cooling breezes in
high summer. A few miles to our rear is Babadag, one of the tallest
mountains in the area at 6000 feet and a magnificent sight, especially
at sunset when the peak often turns pink or orange.
Surrounded by family-run Turkish farms,
the immediate area around the hotel is either forest plantation or a
patchwork of small fields where crops are grown and stock graze. In May,
these fields are a mass of beautiful wild flowers where much wildlife
flourishes, including many birds.
Yakamoz is removed from other tourist
development. The small road leading to the hotel passes through scented
pine forests before opening out into a panoramic view of the valley.
Because we are a little off the beaten track, the hotel is regarded by
our guests as a green oasis of calm and tranquility. However, a 10
minute stroll takes you up to the main Fethiye-Oludeniz road where
regular Dolmus services allow easy access to the areas many
attractions. For your convenience, we also provide free lifts up to the
main road after breakfast and in the early evening. |
