Yakamoz, Fethiye, Mugla Province Yakamoz

Activities to look forward to

Decisions....decisions....

The nice thing about Yakamoz is that you get the sort of holiday that YOU want.  The atmosphere is congenial and you can stay by the pool, relax in the orchard or take advantage of our wonderful mountain location and go walking.  You can chat a little, read a little, or even start writing that book you always knew you had in you!  Some guests bring their paints and capture the majesty of Babadag or, if you catch the staff on a good day, there just might be a game of water polo!

Olu Deniz and the Fethiye area is an excellent location for many interesting activities and excursions.  We can organise things on your behalf if you want us to.  There will be full details at Reception when you arrive but in the meantime here is a taster....

Jeep Safari
An excellent fun day out and one of our most popular trips.  Something for everyone ranging from history - Tlos and Xantos, natural beauty - Saklikent and Patara and an insight into the real rural Turkey that most folks never see including a visit to a village mosque.  You can drive or be driven.

Dalyan
Travel to the Dalyan Delta where David Bellamy created a conservation area for Great Turtles.  A lovely relaxing day cruising through the waterways to the beach - have a mud bath and swim in Koygeyiz lake.

Efes and Pamukkale
Visit Ephesus, one of the largest and complete Roman Ruins in the world and then the 'cotton castle' mineral deposits in Pumakkale.  Incredible!  A 2 day tour staying overnight in a 4 star hotel.

Cadianda
A truck safari to the ancient city of Cadianda and a visit to the picturesque village of Uzumlu.

Scuba Diving
From complete beginners to qualified drivers.  PADI and BSAC courses available.  You can even have a go in our pool before deciding whether to go with the European Diving School.

Boat Trip
Heading out from Fethiye a lovely day on a sailboat that is exclusive to Yakamoz Guests - lunch included.  Wonderful!

Pony Trekking
Into the hills above Hisaronu affording fabulous views over the lagoon at Olu Deniz. Or go to the deserted Greek Village of Kaya - quite extraordinary!  On both trips you can play 'spot the tortoise' - they are all over the place!

And, if that is not enough - we have two accessible local beaches - Calis (reached by water taxi) and Olu Deniz which has a beautiful clean lagoon suitable for small children to bathe safely.

If it's the high life you want, you can jump off Babadag and paraglide to the beach or take a microlight flight over the lagoon and out towards Butterfly Valley at sunset.

And ladies, the shopping is great!  Leather, Gold and Carpet Shops all offer excellent value for money and there are local markets most days of the week - Tuesday in Fethiye is most impressive and authentically local.

To clean up your act and prepare your skin for those long days sunbathing ahead, The Hammam (Turkish Bath) in Fethiye is 400 years old and is a must for a real Turkish experience.  For a modest extra charge you can also have a lovely rose oil massage.

All gents need to visit a Turkish Barber - to tell you any more will spoil the experience!

And if all this excitement is too much, do what the Turks do and sit and watch the world go by on the marina in Fethiye.

As ever, on your behalf we have been seeking out new experiences for you to try and have come up with a wonderful overland jeep drive to the Girdev Plateau. This journey take you up through the local villages stopping at on of the great lakes that nestle in the mountain tops

This is an organised trip run by Ali Baba throughout the season and can be booked by reception.

We have also discovered a hidden gem out at Koycegiz - for those of you who love your gardens the Palmiye Merkezi is a must!

Fancy some stargazing? An evening boat trip combined with a simple but lovely meal on board, followed by stargazing on the way back. You may even see 'Yakamoz' on the water....

Not only all that - but the food is superb as well.  There is much, much more to experience on your Turkish holiday - just how will you fit it all in

Go microlighting!
